Il karma non perdona il guru Pitka.

The Love Guru, l’ultima commedia di Mike Myers, risulta in testa all’annuale antidoto hollywoodiano alle cerimonie di autocompiacimento, guadagnandosi sette nomination ai Golden Raspberry Awards, ovvero quei premi assegnati ai peggiori film e interpreti dell’anno.

Il film è stato nominato in tutte le categorie principali, come praticamente l’intero cast—tranne Justin Timberlake. Tra i disonori raccolti dal film, ci sono quelli di Peggior Film e Peggiori Interpreti per lo stesso Myers, Verne Troyer, il vincitore di un Oscar Ben Kingsley e Jessica Alba, che è stata nominata per i suoi crimini contro la recitazione sia per Guru che per The Eye.

Ad ogni modo, mal comune mezzo gaudio: tra i candidati troviamo anche Paris Hilton, Eddie Murphy, Al Pacino, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Kardashian e Ashton Kutcher.

La Hilton è riuscita da sola a guadagnarsi ben tre nomination ai Razzie: Peggior Attrice per The Hottie and the Nottie, Peggior Attrice Non Protagonista per Repo: The Genetic Opera e metà della Peggiore Coppia Cinematografica dell’anno insieme alla sua co-star in Hottie, Christine Lakin, oppure Joel David Moore.

Il film Hottie and the Nottie è anche stato candidato come Peggior Film dell’anno, categoria in cui dovrà competere con The Love Guru, E venne il giorno, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale e 3ciento - Chi l'ha duro... la vince.

Intanto, Myers condivide la candidatura al premio di Peggior Attore con Larry the Cable Guy di Witless Protection; Eddie Murphy di Piacere Dave, che si è anche guadagnato una nomination (o due?) come Peggior Coppia per aver recitato insieme a sé stesso; Al Pacino, che è stato nominato per il suo lavoro scadente in 88 Minuti e Sfida senza regole; e Mark Wahlberg, un altro con una doppia nomination, in questo caso per E venne il giorno e Max Payne.

Per quanto riguarda le donne, le candidate sono in nove, grazie ad una nomination unica come Peggior Attrice al cast di The Women. La squadra composta da Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett-Smith e Meg Ryan compete con la Alba, la Diaz per Notte brava a Las Vegas, la Hudson per Tutti pazzi per l’oro e My Best Friend's Girl e, ovviamente, la Hilton.

Infine, il regista Uwe Boll si è assicurato il premio più speciale della serata, Peggior Carriera. Descritto dai Razzie come “la risposta tedesca a Ed Wood”, Boll è anche candidato al premio di Peggior Attore Non Protagonista per aver interpretato sé stesso in Uwe Boll's Postal, di Peggior Coppia quando insieme a “qualsiasi attore, cinepresa o sceneggiatura” e Peggior Regista.

La 29ª cerimonia annuale dei Golden Raspberry Awards avrà luogo il 21 febbraio, cioè, come vuole la tradizione, il giorno prima degli Oscar.
